PROGRAMS: FORT COLLINS

Inchworms - 6 weeks to 12 months
The infant program at the Fort Collins center strives to develop a sense of trust and well-being in your baby. Our staff promotes attachment with tenderness and self-awareness for positive social interactions. We offer a safe, healthy and enriched hands on environment in which infants can explore and engage in creative play for each stage of development. We provide loving care, responsive interaction and individual respect for each baby. We offer a 1:4 and 1:5 ratio with a maximum group size of seven infants. Parents are welcome to visit or nurse at anytime throughout the day.

Ten Little Monkeys
This is our toddler one room for children 12 months and walking to two years old. These children are developing their gross motor skills by discovering the thrill of walking, developing their fine motor skills, by pointing, manipulating, grabbing and learning language and social skills. Our teachers use basic sign and consistent repetition to help children start developing their language skills. We introduce the CARES philosophy that teaches children about caring, cooperation, safe environments, assertiveness, relationship skills, emotional regulation and self-control. This philosophy is introduced early and integrated into all of our classrooms big and small. Our ratios are 1:5 with a maximum group size of ten children.

Super Stars - 2 year olds
Super Stars is for children 2-3 years old. Our two year old room focuses on preparing the children for preschool. Gross motor skills are being developed through everyday play such as jumping, tip toeing, throwing, going fast or slow and pedaling a tricycle. Fine motor skills such as drawing, painting and manipulating toys are being developed daily. The CARES model is followed in the development of social and emotional skills such as caring and sharing, showing empathy to friends and family and helping others. In this classroom we focus on potty training. We offer a 1:6 or 1:7 ratio with a maximum group size of 12. In all of our classrooms we encourage learning through play. Play helps toddlers master movements, stimulates language use, builds self confidence, boosts friend making skills and thrills the senses.

Busy Bees - 3 year olds
Busy Bees is our three year old classroom. We focus on assisting children at their individual level. In this room we continue the CARES philosophy teaching every child cooperation, assertiveness, relationship skills, emotional regulation and self control. This classroom focuses on social and emotional development, gross motor, fine motor, sensory integration, language and literacy, music and movement and imaginative exploration. Our low ratio in this class gives teachers an opportunity for more one on one interaction. Our ratio is 1:9 and 1:10 with a maximum group size of 18.

Frogs - 4 year olds
Frogs is our four year old classroom. We offer many exciting opportunities for children from all backgrounds. In this room we continue the CARES philosophy and encourage children to model empathy, self control and emotional regulation. This classroom focuses on social and emotional development, gross motor, fine motor, sensory integration, language and literacy, music and movement and imaginative exploration. Our low ratio in this class gives teachers an opportunity for more one on one interaction. Our ratio is 1:10 and 1:12 with a maximum group size of 20.

Bears - 3 to 5 years
This classroom has a mix of Colorado Preschool Program children and community children. We offer Kindergarten readiness activities in every developmental aspect of the classroom. Theme based activities are planned each week with hands on and teacher directed activities. DECA and CARES are used when planning activities to meet each child's academic needs. This classroom focuses on encouraging children to become independent and make choices on their own. Our low ratio in this class gives teachers an opportunity for more one on one interaction. Our ratio is 1:8 and 1:10 with a maximum group size of 16.

All preschool classroom centers include art, math, science/sensory, dramatic play, language and literacy, computer, music and movement, blocks, fine motor, writing, cozy corner and outdoor play. DECA is a tool used to focus on attachment self-control and initiative which are closely related to social and emotional development. DECA results are summarized in individual and classroom profiles that are used to plan strategies to encourage children's social and emotional strengths. Enrichment programs such as Music with Megan, Stretch-n-Grow and Reading Wagon are offered at no additional cost.
